Background

  • The ideal client
    The ideal client

We’ve worked with the team at SteelBook for half a decade to help them deliver a digital experience that is unrivalled in the industry. This is why it was no surprise when they challenged us to revamp their consumer site and reaffirm their position as the go-to name in media packaging.

  • Taking nothing for granted
    Taking nothing for granted

It’s at times like these where a typical agency would rest on their laurels, and work only what they know best. We’re no typical agency! We went back to basics and revalidated the user journey before working on wireframes and prototypes for the SteelBook team to review.

The details

  • Placing creativity first

The most creative brands deserve the most creative solutions. A heavy emphasis was placed on delivering a design that got end users talking – on site, in forums, on social channels and beyond. We applied UX best practice to craft an attractive visual design.

  • Engaing a community

With a community consisting of movie enthusiasts and the pro-gaming community, we understood the need for a revolutionary experience. We shifted the static catalogue of SteelBook releases into an interactive journey that kept users engaged. The catalogue now contributes to almost 50% of all page views.

What they said

Head of Projects @ Scanavo

It’s been a pleasure working with the team at Debunc. From the project start, they understood our need to develop a unique solution that enhances our brand position, and focussed on generating great new ideas, rather than just showing off their existing work.

The team has a firm grasp on technology and strategy and tie these together in an effective way for our company. We look forward to working with the Debunc team on maintaining the site and other essential projects!

A feature set to die for
  • Release trailers + packshots

It’s not until you’ve held a SteelBook in your hand that you truly appreciate the quality of it’s build and impact of the creative designs. Relaying this on the web was not an easy task! We introduced options to include high resolution packshot images from various angles as well as 3D videos that really helped to sell this amazing product.

  • A leading mobile design

With an increasing amount of traffic for SteelBook.com coming from mobile and tablet devices, it became beyond apparent that the digital journey would need to be revisited from the ground up for users on the go. We rose to the challenge and produced a unique mobile experience without forfeiting desktop features along the way.

  • Geo IP Tracking

Knowing where visitors are coming from is one thing. Using this data in an actionable, real-time fashion is something else. Our team worked tirelessly to integrate our Geo IP plug-in with the retailers, functionality within the website. Users can quickly find the best place to purchase the current release based on their location.

  • Enhanced where to buy options

Whilst SteelBook do not sell direct to consumers, they understand importance of empowering their retail channels in order to show return on investment to the various publishers they work with. The gUI platform accommodates purchasing options for over 60 retailers, 250 publishers, and with groupings by location the buying process couldn’t be easier. The list grows each day as new SteelBook releases are added to the catalogue.
