Let's get started
For most of us who own or rent property, and even for many in the workplace, things often go wrong. From leaking pipes to lost keys, we’ve all been there.
It’s at times like these that our heroes are found in the form of plumbers, electricians, carpenters and other property maintenance experts.
We thought it’d be great to take some time out and recognise the marketing efforts of some these unsung heroes – let’s review some of our favourite sites in the property maintenance industry!
-
Melchior Gray
Website
We love
The clean design with effective use of brand colours and the effective display of value propositions right on the home page.
We’d question
The mobile experience really feels like an afterthought – many components don’t respond well on mobile devices.
-
Proact
Website
http://www.proactpropertymaintenance.co.uk/
We love
The use of illustration to bring the web design to life. It’s both consistent and quirky.
We’d question
The menu design leaves a lot to be desired. With so many services, grouping into smaller sections would be ideal.
-
Property Care
Website
http://www.propertycareltd.co.uk/
We love
The authentic look and feel of the site. Using project images helps to sell this point.
We’d question
Whilst consistent, the various templates feel a little bland at times.
-
The CM Group
Website
We love
We’ve given mention to one of our own projects. We love the feature rich, user led design that really encourages visitors to get in touch.
-
My Plumber
Website
We love
The bold colour palette. It’s risky but pulled off in an impressive way.
We’d question
The quality of the hero/slider on the homepage. It seems second rate in comparison with the rest of the design.
-
Edison Ford
Website
http://edisonfordrepairs.co.uk/
We love
The flat UI that makes up the design. It’s pulled off perfectly, and really helps each image to sing on the page!
We’d question
The content heaviness of the design. A focus on better balance of image/text ratio would really help here.
-
WPJ Heating
Website
We love
The effective use of white space in the design. This website offers a spacious layout that is easy on the eyes.
We’d question
Font sizes are very large throughout the design – reducing these would not detract from the overall spacious feel.
-
Barlows
Website
http://www.barlows-electrical.com/
We love
The effective use of imagery throughout the site. It’s difficult getting the balance right so well done here!
We’d question
The lack of consistency between fixed and full width components in the design.
